I’m quite used to reading vampire stories and the majority of them are filled with violence and battles with a bit of romance on the side. This story is more along the lines of a Twilight vampire book, a romance with violence and battles on the side! Although well written with an easy to follow plot the story didn’t bring anything fresh to the table. I can easily pick out the characters abilities and weaknesses and point you to other vampire series’ containing the same traits. This fact doesn’t take away from the story but as a reader I can’t help but think oh yeah Sookie is a Fae and Bill was weakened by silver etc, so it can be a little frustrating.
I did enjoy the book it had a good feel to it and I’m sure I will read more books by this author for her writing style alone, but as far as this being a memorable story that will stay in my head for the next 12 months…. Well I don’t think it was unique enough to do that. It is definitely worth a read though.
